8. Surrender

Betty Greer

Surrender reflects the process of rebuilding ourselves by slowing down, resting, and listening. Here, surrender isn’t about giving up — it’s about allowing the body and mind to stop pushing, to release tension, and to create space for growth.

The softness in the painting and the open space beneath the bed create a sense of air and lightness. The bed seems to float rather than anchor the figure, suggesting ease, release, and calm instead of weight or pressure. This openness invites the viewer to pause, breathe, and step into a sense of peace.

It is part of the ongoing journey of transformation — learning to care for ourselves with gentleness, to create space for stillness, and to rebuild from a place of ease and awareness.

It invites another step forward in our transformation— learning to care for ourselves with patience, to create space for stillness, and to rebuild from a place of ease and awareness.
