About Me
In 2022, at the age of 52, I packed up my life in Scotland and moved to Türkiye to start a new life. Behind that decision were years of navigating through a painful childhood, letting go of the version of myself that kept me safe, and walking away from a stressful career in finance. I have reclaimed myself, restored my happiness, and built a life of peace I once believed was out of reach.

I felt a deep pull to share my story and decided to teach myself to paint as a way of expressing the journey I had lived. What began as following a strong instinct has led to painting, writing, and creating poetry — gifts that were inside me all along, waiting to be discovered. I now live the life that was always waiting for me.

I began by exploring landscapes and acrylics, but it was figurative art that compelled me. I find there is something profound in capturing a narrative within a painting — its ability to hold emotion, identity, and stories that words often fail to express. The moment I realised I could convey feeling through a figure — a gesture, a posture, a quality of light — that fascination became a deep passion.
To express my journey, I created The Path — a series of 21 oil paintings that mirror my story in visual form. They are points along my path, each one reflecting something I lived and came to understand. But they are not just my story. I created The Path as something you can walk along too — a space to find where my journey connects with yours, and to pause at each painting as a point of reflection.

The paintings also form the foundation of my companion book, The Life That Waits — which shares the meaning within each painting, my personal stories and poetry, and invitations for you to write and create from reflections of your own journey.

If you feel drawn to it, I invite you to walk this path with me — to step through the paintings, sit with what they stir in you, and perhaps begin to imagine the life that waits for you too.
