About Me
In 2022, at the age of 52, I packed up my life in Scotland and moved to Türkiye to start a new life. Behind that decision were years of navigating through a painful childhood, letting go of the version of myself that kept me safe, and walking away from a stressful career in finance. I have restored my happiness, and built a life around the people and things I truly love.
I felt a deep pull to share my story and decided to teach myself to paint as a way of expressing the journey I had lived. What began as following a strong instinct has led to painting, writing, and creating poetry. Gifts that were inside me all along, waiting to be discovered.
To express my journey, I created The Path, a series of 21 oil paintings. Each painting reflects something I experienced, felt, or came to understand. But they are not simply my story. I created The Path to explore your own experiences and maybe recognise something of yourself within them.
The paintings are also the foundation of my book, Your Story In Mine, where I take you deeper into my journey through my personal stories and poetry, .And with writing and creative prompts, invite you to express your own story. You may see your story in mine, or find yourself looking at your own life, who you are and where life may take you next.
