This painting is about no longer needing the world to validate who you are.

The work I had been doing to accept and understand myself slowly changed me. I became more self-assured and comfortable with who I was. I no longer needed approval from others. Their opinions and judgements no longer had any power over me.

For this painting, I chose a woman standing in focus at the centre of a blurred crowd. It represents the confidence she has within herself, while the opinions of those around her have faded into the background.

Centred is about the kind of confidence that doesn't need to prove anything to anyone. The kind that comes simply from knowing who you are.
