Behind this painting
This painting is about writing our thoughts down to organise and understand them.
There were times when my mind felt so busy, with thoughts circling around with nowhere to land. I found it hard to make sense of what my mind was telling me in all that jumbled chaos.
Keeping a notebook became my answer to that. Writing my thoughts onto paper created a distance from them. They were no longer caught inside me, but something I could physically see. It helped me make sense of them and put them into perspective.
In the painting, the window symbolises a way of seeing in. The large, comfortable sofa and blanket represent the comfort I find in writing in a journal or notebook. It can become a companion. A place where thoughts can be honest, unfinished and real.
A moment to reflect
If you wrote your thoughts onto a page today, what might you write about?
