17 - FROM PIECES TO PEACE
Behind this painting
After the joy of arrival came something deeper.

Liberation was the moment of realising I had finally arrived at a life that felt like my own. Pieces to Peace is what followed — the settling. The warmth. The deep peace of knowing that the hardest work was done and the life ahead was now mine to live.

The pieces of the past remain — scattered behind her, present but no longer defining. They shaped her into who she is. But they have no place in what comes next. That boundary was chosen, not forced.

She sits in the warmth of the sun, face lifted, barefoot and completely at ease. The sea stretches open before her. The future is unknown — and for the first time, that doesn't feel like uncertainty, but like freedom.

For me, this is what peace feels like. Not the absence of the past, but the choice to no longer be defined by it. And the knowledge I can now shape my life based on who I truly am.
A moment to reflect
What does peace feel like to you — and how close are you to finding it?
