20 - PEACEFUL AWAKENING

This painting expresses the feeling of waking up genuinely content.

A slower life. Fewer things demanding your attention, and more room to actually live the life you want. The day ahead is yours to shape, or not shape at all.

For me, this was waking up in our dream home, living abroad as we had always hoped, and feeling the freedom that came from years of hard work finally paying off. With loving relationships surrounding us. And with the peace of knowing I had a day ahead in my new life of painting and writing.

The woman in this painting is waking up slowly. The open window frames the sea and the golden sunrise beyond. She wakes to a view she feels grateful for every morning. She's letting it arrive slowly, on its own terms, and hers.

Peaceful Awakening is a reminder that this kind of morning doesn't have to belong to someone else. We can build a life we are genuinely grateful to wake up to, one that includes the people and things we truly love.
