Behind this painting
This painting is about the power of allowing yourself to stop — and discovering what becomes possible when you do.

There came a point in my journey where I realised that pushing through everything was no longer serving me. I had been carrying tension without realising how much, and searching for answers that only arrived when I finally stopped looking for them.

A simple practice changed that. Learning to lie down, breathe, and let thoughts pass without holding onto them gave my mind the space it had been asking for. My body began to soften. Clarity arrived not through effort, but through stillness.

Over time that stillness became something I could return to whenever life felt overwhelming. It became one of the most powerful tools I found on my journey — not a sign of giving up, but a way of understanding myself.

In the painting, the lightness and space reflect that feeling. The figure is resting, held in a moment where nothing is being pushed or forced. Just breathing. Just being.
A moment to reflect
What might open up for you if you gave yourself permission to truly rest?
